Title: Assistant Varsity Girls Soccer Coach

 The assistant varsity girls soccer coach at Grace Christian Academy is responsible for assisting the head coach in developing and implementing a comprehensive soccer program. The primary focus is to provide coaching expertise and guidance to the varsity women’s soccer team, promoting Christian values and fostering the holistic development of student-athletes. 

Responsibilities: 

  1. Assist the head coach in planning, organizing, and conducting regular practices, training sessions, and Bible studies for the women’s soccer team.
  2. Support the head coach in developing and implementing effective strategies and tactics for games, ensuring a cohesive team approach.
  3. Collaborate with the head coach to assess player abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, and provide individualized feedback to help players improve their skills and performance.
  4. Assist in the selection and evaluation of players for the team, considering both athletic ability and character qualities in line with Christian values.
  5. Actively promote a positive team culture and uphold Christian values, emphasizing good sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and fair play.
  6. Assist in coordinating team logistics, including scheduling games and practices, organizing transportation, and ensuring compliance with league and school regulations.
  7. Help maintain accurate records, statistics, and reports related to the team's performance and player development.
  8. Support the head coach in creating a safe and inclusive environment, promoting the physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional well-being of the players.
  9. Assist in organizing team-building activities, community service initiatives, and other events that foster character development and spiritual growth.
  10. Collaborate with other coaches, athletic staff, and school administration to ensure effective communication and coordination of resources.

Qualifications:
 
  1. A strong commitment to Christian values and the ability to integrate faith into coaching and mentorship.
  2. Knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and coaching techniques, with experience in coaching female athletes preferred.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with student-athletes, parents, colleagues, and school administration.
  4. Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes, fostering their personal and athletic growth.
  5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing team logistics and administrative tasks.
  6. First aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it, to ensure the safety and well-being of players.
  7. Previous playing experience in soccer at a competitive level is desirable. College playing experience is a plus.
  8. Depending on the requirements of the school, a valid driver's license and the ability to drive a school vehicle may be necessary.
